Laura Tadt
Director of Design and Product Development
Laura leads the Design Center to deliver innovative design solutions by transforming trend and product ideation into finished product. Her responsibilities include leading, developing, and managing a talented group of designers and sewing professionals, including management of The Airtex Group’s Minneapolis-based sample room.
Laura started with The Airtex Group in the sample room, working hands-on with cutters and sample sewers, where stitch by stitch, she learned all the nuanced details that bring product to life. This technical background, combined with her passion for finding new and innovative ways to create and improve product, provides the comprehensive background to design everything from decorative pillows and pet beds to industrial bags and tents. Laura has travelled abroad to attend trade shows and visit factories to discern upcoming market trends and manufacturing techniques. With her unique blend of technical and creative design skills, Laura leads the design team in all aspects of design—including trend, concept design, prototype-making, technical design, and graphic work.
She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison, with a double major in Textile/Apparel Design and Economics.
Laura lives in Minneapolis with her husband. She enjoys running, traveling abroad, painting, and crafting.
