Dave Thompson
Vice President of Operations
Dave Thompson is an experienced Lean/Six Sigma Certified manufacturing, engineering and operations
leader known for his customer-focused approach to operational excellence. With over 20 years of
progressive leadership within medical device and affiliated industries, Dave has built a reputation for
installing pragmatic and effective solutions to complex business challenges while motivating and
elevating his team members.
Reporting to the President, Dave joined The Airtex Group in 2022 to lead the Supply Chain,
Manufacturing, Distribution, Quality, Safety and Facilities functions. His primary focus is implementing
continuous improvement methods within Operations, enabling growth, capacity, and efficiency across
the company. He is adept at developing solutions, people, and processes to deliver on the Airtex
promise to our customers.
Prior to joining The Airtex Group, Dave served as the Director of Operations at Tactile Medical where he
led the quality manufacturing and delivery of garments to treat Lymphedema patients. He and his team
had the enviable record of meeting all planned shipment metrics during one of the most challenging
business environments in our history. Additionally, his background includes successful contributions
within world-class organizations including Medtronic, Beckman Coulter, and Cantel Medical Inc.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Business Management from Cardinal
Stritch University, graduating with Cum Lade recognition for both. He also has an Associate Degree from
Brown College where he majored in Mass Communication, Radio and Television Broadcasting which has
served well across all business platforms.
Dave is an avid outdoor enthusiast, loves golf and spending time at their Northern Minnesota lake home
with his wife Kerrie and dog Murphy.
